The post you’ve all been waiting for – our 4 year Unlocking Connecticut anniversary party recap!
Unlocking Connecticut turns 4 – The movie!
A big thank you to Chris Knight of Ascent Creative for capturing the evening through his lens and putting together this awesome video for us.
And an equally big thank you to Paola Kaoud Photography for shooting the evening and for being such lovely support to us from behind her camera.
Paola took too many good pics of the party not to share – to see them all go to the album here!
SHOUT OUT TIME — THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS!
We’re speechless at the generosity of these businesses and their belief in us and Unlocking Connecticut! We love the special bonds we’ve made with the people we’ve met blogging and this list of sponsors are the cream of the crop!
The venue – 19Main
19Main in New Milford is a destination event space and was perfect for our chic affair! The building is registered on the National Register of Historic Places and was mostly utilized as a bank since 1902. Now, it’s an elegant hip spot to host parties, weddings, events, and cocktail soirees.
Food, glorious food
George Noujaim of Noujaim’s Mediterranean Bistro in Winsted provided the delicious spanakopita, cucumber with salmon, the best hummus ever, satay chicken, and the baklava. Oh, the baklava!
If you haven’t visited this restaurant yet, put it on your list. Trust us!
Say Arethusa cheese!
Yes, only the best for our party! Owner of Arethusa Farm Dairy, Tony Yurgaitis made us very happy bloggers when not only did he donate 40 lbs of ridiculously good cheese to our party, but he also showed up to wish us well and cheer us on! ❤️
Cocktails & Wine – Cheers!
The guys over at Litchfield Distillery made our dreams come true by making us our very own Elderflower Unlocktail. It was a huge hit! Our friends like cocktails 🙂
- Litchfield Distillery vodka
- Elderflower liqueur
- Fresh Lime
Sunset Meadow Vineyards wine – how we ❤️ thee! Our guests enjoyed a selection of their award-winning wines produced in the beautiful Western Connecticut Highlands, i.e. Goshen!
And to finish the yummy offerings on a sweet note, thank you CT Cookie Company for all the delish cupcakes and cookies. So. good.
We’re not only glowing because we’re surrounded by all of our favorite people (not because we went to the South of France before the party) we’re also glowing because we got beautiful spray tans by Sun Kissed Glow!
Nikki Medina Intilangelo is a pro at what she does, and has sprayed the likes of Christina Aguilera..and now us! Seriously, if you want insta-confidence…luxury organic spray tan with Nikki!
We have something to say…
Thank you for coming to Unlocking Connecticut’s 4-year birthday party! Yes, that’s Unlocking Connecticut.
We get called other things…Uncorking Connecticut (not a bad idea), Unleashing Connecticut (not sure what that would entail) and often still get called Unlocking Litchfield (our first blog-baby).
So we’ll take this moment to make a quick reminder PSA that we’re Unlocking all of Connecticut…potentially the world in the future, stay tuned.
We’re often asked why Connecticut needs to be unlocked? Well, because we don’t believe all of these CT gems should be a secret, that’s why! We love to explore and like to take staycations in our own backyard. Our aim is to make our way around all 169 towns and report back to you on where to go, where to eat, and what to see and do!
That makes for a lot of drive time…and #UnlockingtheCar videos!
We often get requests to pick up passengers to join us on our unlocking travels…but until we find ourselves a willing camera crew or a limo driver, we came up with this cardboard Jeep!
We remember when we started as Unlocking Litchfield way back in 2015 and hitting 100 Instagram followers. We’re excited to say that a couple of days after our party we hit 10k followers. Which is a big deal in Insta-world because as you may have noticed, we can now add links to our stories! Swipe Up!
Blogger happiness, right there.
Enjoy the rest of the party pics!
Now to start planning our 5 year! 🙌
A huge thank you to all who came and all who support us! We love you!!
Thanks to our fabulous volunteers: Deb, Rebecca, Ime, and Isaiah!
