Blue Star Bazaar carries stylish yet casual apparel including tees, blouses, dresses, jeans, and activewear. Clothing for the active woman that wants a versatile, fashionable, flattering wardrobe. They also offer some basics (tights, tanks, solid t-shirts, socks) so that customers can find everything they need locally. Oh, and everything is priced affordably. Checking all the boxes!
And did we mention the very cute clothing, accessories, and cool gifts for baby to teens?
If these things are on your shopping list…you’re in the right place.
You’ll find fun tops that can turn a pair of jeans into a “going out” outfit, leggings that perform well and look great during workouts, handmade jewelry, hand-poured candles, and tween gifts such as lip gloss, nail polish, and fanciful socks. They also carry a great selection of party dresses for girls – perfect for bar/bat mitzvahs, confirmations, concerts, graduations, and dances.
Blue Star Bazaar is eclectic and homey and can be found on the first floor of a historic home, located conveniently on Route 7. With the kid’s section in the front and women’s in the back, there’s a lot of eye candy in a relatively small space. Unicorn purses, flamingo tunics, tassel earrings, and gingham sundresses with pompoms are just a few of the things that grabbed our attention.
The owner – Megan LaBant Abrahamsen
In September 2011, Megan launched Blue Star Bazaar as an online retailer with local trunk shows and pop-ups venues. Blue Star’s physical presence has evolved from pop-ups to a permanent space in a local marketplace, to a 300 square foot space in Wilton in November 2013. The store opened in its current boutique space in Wilton in August 2015.
We heard it from a friend
This amazing store was brought to our attention through our stylist (we like saying that), Styling Seed’s, Angela Niznik. During a recent session with Angela (more on that next week!), we settled on Blue Star Bazaar for our shopping destination.
Like a dating service, we had shared with Angela all of our loves/dislikes/needs/wants and budget for some wardrobe help (no pressure), and she came up with Blue Star Bazaar. She was right on with her pick for us and was able to dress us in a sporty look, a daywear look, and a date night evening look, all within Blue Star Bazaar’s small but mighty boutique.
A toast to trying on clothes…if it were a sport, we’d be champs. Cheers!
Daywear. Be prepared to have strangers ask you where you got your ________ from. BSB only carries a few of each item, so if you see something you love, buy it!
Megan likes to be on hand to help pull looks together for customers.
This chambray shirt is so soft, so versatile, and is now hanging in Lora’s closet!
A cold-ish shoulder top with cute poppy print, paired with denim shorts just the right length.
The Blue Star Bazaar hope!
To provide an experience and product that makes women and girls look and feel great. Megan feels that women can be so hard on themselves and that girls often feel pressure to grow up too quickly. She wants everyone to feel good when they leave her store. Every shopper has a feature she’s proud of and maybe something she’d rather downplay. Blue Star Bazaar gets it and won’t try to sell something to someone that doesn’t work for them!
Mission accomplished we say!
Tune in next week to see the rest of our cute Blue Star Bazaar epic try-on session, and meet the Styling Seed’s, Angela Niznik!
