What gets us to leave our house when it’s a whopping eight degrees outside? Jewelry, that’s what. Mic Urban of Michael Urban Jewelry specializes in one-of-a-kind pieces made with rare stones and also creates limited edition collections twice a year. Inspired by his unique life between Connecticut and Puerto Rico, we can tell you right here in the first paragraph that you need to check it out!

Keep scrolling to hear Mic’s fascinating story, his process, and his philosophy. Most importantly, see what you might want to add to your own jewelry collection. 😍

When Stew Leonard’s invites you to spend a morning in their Danbury store, getting hands-on and going behind the scenes, you squeal, then you clear your schedule. At least that’s what we did! Long-time fans of Stew’s (the world’s largest dairy store) we couldn’t wait to discover what makes their operation tick….and to make cinnamon rolls, mozzarella cheese, dance with bananas, toss pizzas, kiss a monkfish, and of course, visit with Clover the cow.

Come along, kids! We’re going to show you what’s going on in The Silly Sprout, a shop for children located at 469 Bantam Road, Litchfield. We met with owner Jessica Dell’aera for the full tour…and to see what the kids of Litchfield County are into these days.

Cathy B is a new biz that we’re jumping up and down excited to tell you about! Cathy Boskoff is the owner of a new store based in Woodbury, bringing some really awesome fashionable finds to the area.

We met via Instagram (usual story, mutual #gentlestalking) and after a two-hour non-stop laughing and talking dinner at The White Horse, an instant friendship was made. She is a kindred spirits in our love of fashion, who is searching for unique, nobody-else-will-have-it things; be it, purses, shoes, scarves, clothing, jewelry… we could go on and on! Check out our pics to see some of the treasures we speak of…

Mother Earth Gallery, Made by Nature, Made by Hand is a special and unique store. If you’ve visited it in the past, you most likely loved it. How can you not love beautiful stones and crystals produced by Mother Earth herself, and all things healing and calming? The store was located at the Brookfield Four Corners area for 28 years since the store opened in 1987, and most recently (since 2015) at its brand new location at 449 Danbury Road, New Milford.

Lora is very much in tune with her crystals and such; me, not so very much. But, I certainly do appreciate these things, just am never quite sure how to go about using them in day-to-day life. Soooo, I decided to make this an informative feature and asked owner Leslie Gera, just “how do you use crystals in day-to-day life?”

Terston, located in Kent, is another excellent Litchfield County store. Filled with home accents, gifts, and most importantly (in our opinions) apparel; we pretty much love everything they carry. I think we may have said “Oooh, that’s nice,” or “Ooh, that’s gorge” at least 20 times. Geraldine Woodruff, owner, and our stylist for the morning didn’t seem to mind, though. Check out our Terston summer styles here, then check out the rest of the store, and our chat with Geraldine (a fellow ex-pat from Scotland) down there. ↓

Ahh, J. Seitz & Co., what a beauty of a store. Every single thing is pleasing to the eye! From the store, to being in the cutest of towns (New Preston), to the merchandise they carry. Oh, and the most awesome waterfall just outside at the back of the store. On an Instagram/Pinterest aesthetic rating of 1 to 10, it’s a 9.5.

J. Seitz & Co. has been in business for over 30 years and happens to be a bit of an institution in Litchfield County. A long-established destination store, they carry just about everything: women’s and men’s fashion, baby clothing, gifts, home furnishings, accessories, jewelry…and the list goes on. One-stop exquisite shopping.

It was both Bantam Tileworks’ window displays and Instagram account that lured us into the store. There’s just something about their use of colorful glazes and beautiful designs that equal “eye candy.” Come with us as we see where all the ceramic magic is made and chat with owners, artists, creators, Darin Ronning, and Travis Messinger!
