Lorraine K. Boutique in Monroe is one of the largest gift and boutique shops in Fairfield County and was previously voted “Best women’s accessories store in CT” by Connecticut Magazine. The question is, why haven’t we visited sooner?!
If you’re worth your salt in style in CT, you should know about these six boutiques in our state. Each store has their own unique approach to fashion, and all are run by the chicest women you ever did meet. Grab your favorite shopping partner and hit the road – all are well worth the visit!
Does the thought of switching cell phone plans make you break out into a cold sweat? Would you rather do your laundry, weed the garden, and unload the dishwasher, than try to figure out where to begin with swapping carriers? Same here!
Luckily for us, our friend and #1 Sprint customer Paul Marcarelli lives on the way to the Torrington Sprint store. So we stopped by to pick him up and bring him along to assist us with the whole process – with some careful planning, of course, as his filming schedule is pretty crazy with all of those commercials!
You’ve heard us talking about Blueprint CT Home before on the blog. We love owner Louis Lemieux’s aesthetic flair (and name). We especially love his new home for his store and even bigger collection of global treasures! Located in beautiful Bantam, we traveled one of our favorite routes in CT (Route 202) to pay a visit. Here’s what’s new at Blueprint CT Home!
Stores like Blue Star Bazaar are one of the top reasons we love having this blog! The adrenaline rush we get from discovering fabulous, independent clothing boutiques around our state is REAL! Blue Star Bazaar sells clothing, accessories, and gifts for women and girls. Ladies (and mini-mes), if you need a new destination for fashionable looks that you can wear in real life, Blue Star Bazaar in Wilton is for you!
We’ve been shopping Shop Cathy B for a wee while now. We’ve witnessed its evolution from a small collection of cool items from Ibiza and the cutest accessories from all over – to a really cute small store in Woodbury – to an even cuter, and bigger store in Woodbury, right next to The Marketplace. Yep, we declare this a destination boutique. Grab your gal pals, have a lovely salad and cocktail at The Marketplace, then wander right next door for some awesome shopping. Our kind of afternoon!
With a new home in Lora and Michael’s near future, home furnishing stores are currently at the top of our shopping agenda. Where do we begin to find new awesome stores in new awesome towns across CT? We scour Instagram for inspiration and a store with a fantastic looking feed (it’s how we find the best places!). Welcome to Adore, located in Mystic.
Road trip! We both love a great natural self-care store and were overdue giving our body, mind, and spirit some attention. So, we got in the car and headed to the super cute – felt like we were on vacation – Olde Mistick Village, to visit Becca Rose Natural Body Care.
Do you know what we love more than one cool store in a picturesque town? A cluster of cool stores and businesses! The cluster we speak of is Kent Barns, a complex of industrial-barn style buildings, both modern and rustic, located on North Main Street in Kent. We decided to have the complete Kent Barns experience and spend the afternoon strolling, shopping, and eating at the fab new restaurant, Swyft!
What gets us to leave our house when it’s a whopping eight degrees outside? Jewelry, that’s what. Mic Urban of Michael Urban Jewelry specializes in one-of-a-kind pieces made with rare stones and also creates limited edition collections twice a year. Inspired by his unique life between Connecticut and Puerto Rico, we can tell you right here in the first paragraph that you need to check it out!
Keep scrolling to hear Mic’s fascinating story, his process, and his philosophy. Most importantly, see what you might want to add to your own jewelry collection. 😍
