Lorraine K. Boutique

Lorraine K. Boutique in Monroe is one of the largest gift and boutique shops in Fairfield County and was previously voted “Best women’s accessories store in CT” by Connecticut Magazine. The question is, why haven’t we visited sooner?!

You name it, you can find it at Lorraine K. Boutique. That’s if you’re looking for women’s clothing and accessories, jewelry, hostess, wedding, or baby gifts, bath & body, or a whole bunch of things you didn’t know you were looking for!

Grab a basket as you enter the store…we’re going shopping!

Lorraine K.

Lorraine K. (K for Kathryne) McGowan opened her store on October 1, 1987, with 750 square feet and it was initially called Country Hearts. In April of 2014, the name changed to Lorraine K. Boutique to better suit their look and style. The store is now 4,000 square feet!

The Lorraine K. philosophy is to have fun, provide fashion-forward clothing, keep up with the trends, keep customers as friends, and share good times and memories.

Cheers to that!

The store is bright and airy and offers wish lists, personal shopping services, and gift wrapping. Additionally, it’s pet-friendly! The boutique staff are great at putting outfits together and will help you accessorize, as we found out – check out our outfits below.

Best of all, they can help you find the perfect gift for those hard to buy for people we all know.

Jewelry

Among other lines, they have a very cute and contemporary collection from a Spanish jeweler. We loved!

Fans of the Brighton line will love the huge selection they carry of jewelry, leather goods, handbags, travel accessories, gift items, picture frames, boxes, clocks, and wrist watches. Phew! Be on the lookout for some Brighton promotions throughout the year; they do some great free gifts with purchase.

That perfect gift

We were particularly impressed with the table dedicated to the theme of wine. How about a wine clutch (with opener in the side pocket)? Perfect to carry that bottle of vino over to your girlfriend’s house in style. 😉

We were inspired to make ourselves our own hypothetical gift basket

Lotions and potions…

Next, we travel into the Bath + Body section where we discovered and instantly snagged, the MakeUp Eraser. All you have to do is wet this magic cloth and voilà – makeup is gone!

Monogram me!

Check out the bridal area for keepsake items that can be monogrammed. Wine glasses, frames, and mugs to name a few. Who doesn’t love the Mariposa line?

You are now entering…the Baby Zone

Continuing into the baby zone, we found pop up books, clothing, toys, and a Peekaboo elephant so adorable we may have to go back just to visit him. This ear flapping, singing elephant is super popular in the baby world we’re told.

Yay clothes!

Always our favorite section. The Lorraine K. ladies put together these spring outfits for us accessorized with jewelry, sunglasses, and handbags. Naturally, we had to go and have ourselves a mini photo shoot outside!

The reason for the big cheesy grin – these jeans have an elastic waist!
These also have a stretchy waistband!
Love the embroidery!

What’s coming up?

If you fancy checking out Lorraine K. Boutique, put their Spring Fashion Show on your calendar. It’s being held at the store Thursday, April 25th. Refreshments at 6:30 PM and the show goes on at 7 PM.
