When we don’t want to be aware of outside temperatures (a polar vortex in January) and want to get away for some inside fun, we bring ourselves to Mohegan Sun! Twenty-four hours of entertaining good times coming up!

Mohegan Sun in Uncasville is one of the largest entertainment, gaming, dining, and shopping destinations in the US. It’s home to three casinos, two hotels, over 90 shops and restaurants, two spas, and so much more.

Instant swagger

From the moment we dropped off our keys with the valet and swaggered into the casino (because that’s how you enter Mohegan Sun), it was pretty much non-stop F.U.N.

At check-in, we were offered a bottle of water to hydrate after our journey, a nice touch and an on-going theme of our stay. Two thumbs up for the friendly staff, and the piano man.

Did you ever notice that *Mohegan Sun* sort of rhymes with *We Having Fun*? Uh huh.

Where we rest our heads

We stayed in the Earth Tower (the other hotel is Sky Tower) and our room reminded us of a hotel we stayed at in Iceland. Bright, modern, and efficient use of space! After a quick unpack, freshen-up, and outfit change (what’s a trip to the casino without multiple costume changes?), we headed out to our first event, the “Sun Wine & Food Fest Grand Tasting.”

Wine & Food Fests – where have you been all our lives?

Oh yes, did we mention that not only are we here enjoying a getaway at Mohegan Sun, we’re also attending three different events at the Mohegan Sun Wine and Food Fest? Yes, we’re basically in heaven. The Sun and Wine Food Fest was celebrating its 16^th anniversary and we were celebrating our first time attending one! It’s been on our bucket list for a while, so it was great to finally see what it’s all about. We’ll be telling you more about it next week!

Dining decisions, decisions…

Mohegan Sun has 46 dining options ranging from casual to fine. We opted for SolToro between our afternoon and evening eating event. Because who can resist afternoon margaritas + warm and salty tortilla chips + guacamole made tableside? Nobody has to drive later, woop!

Oh yeah, there’s lots of slot machines and gambling thingies at the casino…

300+ table games, almost 5,000 slot machines, and 42 poker tables, to be exact. Not a penny did we have time to spend. We could be millionaires right now.

Shopping, we can speak to the shopping!

If you want to take a break from your gambling rush, eating rush, and perhaps a beverage or two, you can enjoy some retail therapy. We did a good bit of window shopping at Swarovski and Splendeur Boutique.

Pajamagram

We decided on a pajama uniform for this trip! Actually, we just both fell in love with this cute PJ print from BedHead Pajamas. Besides being cute, they’re made from the softest cotton with just the right amount of stretch. BedHead Pajamas are made in the USA and can be found in their flagship store in LA, online, and at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, to name a couple. So good did we feel in these PJs that we dedicated a TikTok to them.
